Second edition of this event, where the main players in citizen science share their experiences, knowledge and opinions. The aim is to consolidate and recognise the citizen science being carried out in the city of Barcelona and to generate areas of trust through BCNLab’s Citizen Science Office where existing projects can be shared and grow. The event will conclude with a conference open to the general public given by Liz Barry from Public Lab.
This year Citizen Science Day includes new and specific sessions on approaches, tools and useful technologies for citizen science (funding, citizen participation, validation, handling and visualisation of data, DIY tools, open data, etc…). Different citizen science projects can also be learned about through presentations, in order to find collaborators and to disseminate materials. The current status of the Citizen Science Office will also be presented, the opportunities for adding new projects, the Citizen Science Catalogue and the celebration of the first Citizen Science Awards. The event will end with a plenary session by Liz Barry, founder of Public Lab, a community of DIY environmental sciences, pioneer in its field and based in New York.
